Viking Europe Sagl has joined the United Nations Global Compact , which asks companies to “welcome, support and act” on 10 key principles. Here we publish these principles, along with our policies, and initiatives for their support.
Our company will:
1) Maintaining and respecting the universally recognized human rights protection.
There are clear and shared work policies that need to be applied consistently and fairly. We support the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations and the statements of the International Labor Organization. Our “governance” and risk management systems warn us in the event of non-compliance or negligence. We ask our independent partners and representatives to comply with our Business Principles.
2) Make sure you are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Our ethical procurement policy adopts the standards of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations and the conventions of the International Labor Organization. We work with the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) to monitor and verify the ethics and working standards of our suppliers. We encourage diversity in the workplace.
3) Support the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
We support dialogue between employees and we ask all people to be involved in matters that concern them, including terms, conditions, and payments. We recognize unions for collective bargaining and respect the rights of people to belong to you.
4) Encouraging the elimination of all forms of compulsory and compulsory labor.
We do not tolerate harassment or persecution, or any form of forced or child labor. Our procurement policies are unmistakable. We make it clear to our suppliers, the conditions that would make it impossible for us to work with them.
5) Support the effective abolition of child labor.
Our commitments are reflected in our social programs and actions. Our involvement with the humanitarian campaign is a way of supporting our efforts to eliminate forced labor.
6) Encouraging the elimination of discrimination in employment and work.
Our culture reflects the diversity of our customers. Our goal is to recruit people who can make a difference in the workplace. Our approach is to valorize different capacities, by altering our work environments for people with disabilities or with special needs.
7) Support a preventive approach to environmental challenges.
Our sustainability strategy aims to protect the environment and reduce our impact on climate change. We support continued energy and CO2 reductions both inside and outside Viking Europe Sagl. Our goal is to encourage a positive change by developing and promoting green products, services and ecological practices. We use renewable energy.
8) Undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.
We seek to promote awareness of sustainability between customers, CPs and employees, with the motto “Think Big.” Our key projects include more environmentally friendly products for our community. We support “green” trips.
9) Encouraging the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
We are convinced that new technologies can help address global warming. We encourage our customers, employees and stakeholders to embrace behavioral change.
10) We work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribes.
High standards of “governance” and “compliance” help us work with respect for the law at all times. Our business principles, the ban on employees to accept gifts, hospitality, bribes or other incentives that encourage or reward a business decision. We have a formal and rigorous inquiry process to keep a record of all possible complaints.
